How to make an: Italian Gingerbread


Now that Christmas time is happening, it's hard not to be in the festive mood. This year at The Milton Club, we have introduced three festive cocktails that would convert any Scrooge out there. The first one we'd like to tell you about is our Italian Gingerbread.

For decades Gingerbread has been an essential part of the Italian Christmas culture where the family get together and make gingerbread men to decorate their tree. Our newest Christmas cocktail was inspired by this combines delicious ingredients to create a festive flavour. Here is how to make it:

  1. Firstly, you will need to add 25ml of Montenegro Liqueur into a cocktail glass. This Italian liqueur has a combination of herbs for a festive taste alongside orange for zest and vanilla for sweetness. It makes an incredible base for any winter cocktail.
  2. The second step is to add the most important ingredient, which is the Gingerbread syrup. If you don't have this to hand, you can easily create your own by mixing 200ml water with golden caster sugar and ground ginger, boiled and then chilled to room temperature.
  3. Next, you will need to add 25ml of Chambord. Here at The Milton Club, we love the smooth raspberry flavour and colour it gives to a cocktail. It's the perfect way to add any sweetness to a drink.
  4. Lastly, you will need to stir all the ingredients in the glass and top it off with soda water for some subtle sparkle. Enjoy!
